This lesson examines the invasion of the north of England in 1066 by Harald Hardrada and Tostig Godwinson. Students will analyse: the decision of Godwinson to split his army the Battle of Fulford the Battle of Stamford Bridge. This is part of a series of lessons that aims to encompass the new 9-1 GCSE skills into Key Stage 3. Lessons are colourful and engaging and match the content of the new Exploring History textbook from Pearson, although the textbook is not necessary for any of the tasks. Complete set of resources that link to Component 2 of the new Edexcel specification for A-level Politics. These lessons link exactly to the content on UK Government and uses content form all three textbooks, two from Hodder and one from Pearson. The content is distilled into a series of over 80 interactive student-led resources that encourage independent learning and give a comprehensive overview of the demanding content from the new specification. Each lesson comes with an accompanying PPT that guides the teacher and students through the worksheets. Students are encouraged to file the sheets using dividers with headings that match the PPT titles that will give teachers neat and comprehensive revision notes that can be accessed in the lead up to exams. Nationalism has been included free of charge as we realise that not all teachers will be choosing nationalism as an optional ideology. Detailed lesson on how Parliament interacts with the executive within the UK government. Students will examine how representative Parliament is in terms of regional, social, political and sectional representation. There are also tasks requiring students to make an overall assessment on the effectiveness of Parliament. There is an information sheet on reform of the House of Lords with accompanying tasks. Lessons from The Knowledge House are specially planned to meet the exacting standards of the new A-level politics specification. Each lesson has been planned using content taken from the three approved textbooks from Hodder and Pearson and media sources. However, there is no requirement to have a textbook for the completion of these lessons as they come with extensive information sheets and tasks for students to complete.
